Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions below

What are balance bikes and who are they for?
Balance bikes have no pedals: kids use their feet to propel and balance themselves, building the core skill they'll need when they move to a pedal bike. They're typically designed for children from around 18 months to five years old.
When should a child move from a balance bike to a pedal bike?
Most kids are ready once they can glide comfortably with both feet up for a few seconds. That usually happens between ages three and five depending on the child. After a good balance bike experience, training wheels usually aren't needed.
What size balance bike does my child need?
The key measurement is inseam length. Your child should be able to sit on the seat with both feet flat on the ground. Check the seat height range on each listing and compare it to your child's inseam before purchasing.
Do balance bikes ship Australia-wide?
Kids' balance bikes and accessories ship nationally. Free standard shipping applies on orders over $150. If you're bundling a helmet alongside a balance bike, you'll likely hit that threshold easily in one order.
Should I buy a helmet with a balance bike?
Absolutely. Even on a low, slow balance bike, kids take tumbles as they find their feet. A properly fitted helmet is a good habit to build from day one. We stock helmets designed for toddlers and younger kids to pair with balance bikes.
