Coolers

Keep food and drinks cold for longer, wherever the day takes you. Often Outdoors camping coolers and eskies are built for Australian conditions — maximum ice retention, rugged durability, and adventure-ready performance for the beach, the campsite, the boat, or the back of the ute.

How to Choose the Right Cooler

  • Capacity — match the size to your trip: a day at the beach needs far less than a week off-grid. Allow room for ice as well as food and drinks.
  • Ice retention — thicker insulation and a tight seal keep ice solid for days, not hours. Check the rated ice-retention time.
  • Hard vs soft — hard coolers maximise insulation and durability for base camp; soft coolers are lighter and easier to carry for day trips.
  • Build quality — heavy-duty latches, hinges, and UV-stable materials that handle the Australian sun and rough handling.

Why Often Outdoors Coolers

Every cooler in this range is chosen for thermal efficiency and toughness — engineered to keep your supplies cold across long, hot Australian days and to survive years of camping, fishing, and four-wheel-driving. Backed by local Brisbane-based support and fast Australia-wide delivery.

Camping Cooler FAQs

How long will a cooler keep ice?
It depends on insulation, ambient temperature, and how often it's opened. Quality hard coolers can hold ice for several days; pre-chilling the cooler and using block ice extends it further.

Hard cooler or soft cooler — which is better?
Hard coolers offer the best ice retention and durability for camping and longer trips. Soft coolers are lighter and more portable for day trips, picnics, and the beach.

Is a cooler the same as an esky?
Yes — 'esky' is the common Australian term for an insulated cooler or ice box. Our coolers do the same job: keeping food and drinks cold on the go.

What size cooler do I need?
As a guide, allow around 1 litre of capacity per person per day, plus extra room for ice. For a weekend away for two, a mid-size hard cooler is usually ideal.

Do you deliver coolers Australia-wide?
Yes. We ship across Australia, with free shipping on orders over $150 and Brisbane-based support if you need a hand choosing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions below

What cooler sizes does Often Outdoors stock?
The range covers a broad spread of capacities. The Wagon Cooler Cart is 75L — large enough for an extended family camp. The Wing Cooler with Table and Chairs is 28L. The Cooler Trolley bag is 35L. The Rattan Bar Table Cooler is 13L. The Heavy Duty Ice Cooler Box is 13.2L (3.5 gallons). There are also smaller insulated lunch bags for day use.
How long do the Often Outdoors coolers keep things cold?
Cold retention depends on the model. The Wagon Cooler Cart (75L) and the Wing Cooler with Table and Chairs (28L) are both rated to keep contents cold for 24 hours. The Cooler Trolley bag (35L) is rated for 6 to 8 hours. Actual performance depends on ambient temperature, how often the cooler is opened, and the ice-to-content ratio.
Is there a cooler suitable for 4WD and overland trips?
The Wagon Cooler Cart is the strongest match for extended 4WD use: 75L capacity, 24-hour cold retention, a polyurethane-insulated PP inner liner, and four multi-directional wheels (two with locks). The heavy-duty iron-coated outer shell is built for repeated outdoor use.
Can any of the cooler products double as seating?
Yes. The Wing Cooler with Table and Chairs (28L) can be used as a seat and includes a folding table and chairs in one integrated unit. The Directors Chair with Cooler Bag combines a 100kg-rated folding chair with an integrated 10L cooler at just 1.35kg.
Do coolers ship Australia-wide?
Yes — all Often Outdoors coolers ship free across Australia. Larger items like the Wagon Cooler Cart may be sent via freight carriers. Delivery typically takes five to seven business days from our Brisbane warehouse.
