Ride protected, whatever you ride. Our safety gear range covers every rider and every trip — certified bike helmets and smart helmets with integrated lights and crash alerts, wearable airbag protection for the areas a helmet can't cover, knee and elbow pads, high-visibility lighting and kids' protective gear for bikes, e-bikes, scooters and skates.

New: cycling airbag backpacks by MASE. German-engineered, reusable airbag systems that monitor your movement 300 times per second and inflate in under 150 milliseconds to help protect your neck, shoulders, collarbones, chest and back in a fall — worn together with your helmet. Available online Australia-wide and for demo fittings at our Brisbane showroom.

A note on Australian law: cyclists must wear an approved bicycle helmet at all times. Airbag products in this collection are supplementary protection worn with a helmet — they are not helmet replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions below

Do I legally need to wear a helmet when riding in Australia?
Yes. Helmets are mandatory by law for cyclists and e-bike riders in every Australian state and territory, and for e-scooter riders in most states. Any bike helmet bought for road use should meet the Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 2063.
Are the helmets at NG Mobility certified to Australian standards?
Our road-cycling helmets are designed to meet AS/NZS 2063, the Australian/New Zealand bicycle helmet standard. Smart helmets like UNIT 1 add MIPS rotational-impact protection and integrated lighting on top of standard certification. Check the individual product page for each model's specific certification.
What is MIPS and do I need it?
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) lets the helmet shell move slightly on impact to reduce rotational force to the head — the type of impact most common in real-world falls. It isn't legally required, but it's a meaningful safety upgrade for commuters and faster e-bike riders.
How do I choose the right helmet size?
Measure the circumference of your head just above the eyebrows and match it to the size chart on each product page. A helmet should sit level, cover the forehead, and feel snug without pressure points. For children we stock junior-specific helmets including the UNIT 1 SPARKY and the Micro kids' range.
What safety gear should I add beyond a helmet?
For new or younger riders, knee and elbow pads are a smart addition — especially in the first few weeks. For low-light commuting, consider a helmet or backpack with integrated lighting to stay visible. Browse the full range on this page.
